Charlaine Harris "Dead until Dark

I'm just now finishing up The first in The Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris, also known as True Blood series on HBO.

For those who have seen the True blood series and were turned off by the graphic sex scenes, give the books a chance. I was very skeptical as to wether these books would be any good. I've now read the first one and I can't wait to read the next one! There is sex and blood but it's not over whelming like the cable show is.
I don't think HBO does these books justice!

The characters are complexed and real, yes even Bill the Vampire! When I had watched the show I hated Sookies brother in the books he seems more complexed than the sex fiend he is on the show.

I really would give the books a try. If you like the HBO show, you maybe a little disapointed that the sex scenes are not as graphic, but you will still enjoy sookie and the gang.
